You Should Always Choose Your Interior Finishes before You Start Building - I really can't say this enough and I won't stop saying it, until everyone gets the message. The more stuff that you can get into the original construction contract with out any allowances, the better off you're going to be.

Interior Designers Can Create Big Problems for Home Builders - I was working on a track of homes one time and we were building the model homes. The homes were completely framed, with all of the electrical, plumbing and heating systems in place, when the interior designer came to the job and started changing things.

Cost Allowance Problems in New Home Construction -
There are plenty of problems that a homeowner will face while building a new home and if you can eliminate just one of them, it could make the difference between you sleeping at night or staying up, worrying about the project.

Stick to Your Construction Budget Home Construction Ideas - I seriously can't remember ever building a home, when I was working for another contractor, where the construction budget was actually balanced. Whenever they were my projects, I made sure that we finish the job on budget, unless the homeowner really wanted something extra and understood the consequences.

Building a Moderate Priced House - You never want to overbuild for the area that you live in. There's a good chance that you won't get a good return on your investment and your house might look out of place in the community. If you're going to be building a home in a moderately priced area, you're going to want to stick to these guidelines below.

Are You Sure You're Ready to Build? - You've purchased the property, designed the home and finally have the building permits in your hands, but are you sure you're ready to build? Have you worked everything out with your contractors, architects and engineers? Well let's see if you've thought of everything.

First Things First, Understanding Basic Home Building - If you don't know much about building a brand-new house, I would advise you to do some research and as much research as you could possibly do before you start building the home. Building a new home isn't the same thing as purchasing a car or raising children. Home building can be your worst nightmare if you don't have a basic understanding of the process.

Is Building Layout Really Important? - Building layout is the most important part of the home building process. Do not pass go, do not collect your $200 and do not start working on a building with out having it properly laid out. In other words, yes building layout is really important and if you don't agree with that, there's a good chance that I know what kind of a home builder you are.

The General Contractor's Job Looks Easy Home Building - I've heard this for years and sometimes it rings true but for when it doesn't, some of the problems that these guys have to deal with, makes them wish that they never took certain jobs. Most of the time, the general contractor's job does look easy, but it's the behind the scenes stuff that make the difference between a good general contractor and a poor one.
